What is Wrong with a Fashionable Man?

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

These days, we see a lot more men that actually care about what they are wearing and spend their time shopping to look good. Does this mean that they are gay, or have to be included in the new term Metro-sexual, for those who are straight but have a title that says I am a man that takes more pride in how he grooms himself?
Is it fair to even give them a label?  Don’t you think women want a man who cares a little bit about how he looks and the image he portrays? Especially if we are always trying to look good and find ourselves shopping for the latest trends, shouldn’t the man whose arms we are in look good also?

Well men like Pharrell, Kanye West, Fonsworth Bentley, and Justin Timberlake have changed this stigma for men. Because of their images and the trends that they have set in fashion more men have become more conscientious about what they are putting on and keeping up with the trends themselves.

Men no longer want to look the same and all wear boring suits anymore. But they rather  stand out. Do these men need a label? Why do we consider them gay or wait for proof that says otherwise because they give more attention to their appearance?

Seeming how most women complain about how their husbands dress and find themselves trying to change their husbands you would think this change would be embraced and not looked down on. I personally like a man who looks good and shows he cares about his appearance. Whether he put the look together himself or hired a personal shopper like myself to do it, as long as he cares about his image and looks good, that is ALL matters.

So there is nothing wrong with a man who is fashionable and looks good. That’s what women should want, whether he decides to go for a preppy, edgy, or GQ look it does not matter.  When women use to see Michael Jordan in a suit they would go crazy because women thought he looked so sexy. Whether it’s a suit or polo and jeans rocked the right way that shows he has tapped into his fashionable side, I applaud every man that has the balls to do so.
